In the Fall 1981 issue of Baseball Cards Magazine (Vol. 1, No. 2), David Eisenberg spotlighted Drake’s Bakeries returning to baseball cards after a 31-year absence. He revisited the original 36-card 1950 Drake’s set before introducing the new 33-card 1981 “Big Hitters” issue. Here are scans of both pages of his piece.

As you can see, the article closed with an in-store advertisement boldly predicting that these ads for the 1981 Drake’s cards would someday be rare and valuable.
While the “valuable” part remains debatable, rarity may not be. In researching for examples, I was only able to track down a single one from 4192cards.com.

Happy collecting!
