A Babe For Every Budget

In the Fall 1983 issue of Baseball Cards Magazine, Bill Bossert’s “A Babe For Every Budget” makes a simple observation about the hobby: while Babe Ruth’s earliest cards are largely out of reach for most collectors, there is a broad base of post-war issues that are far more accessible at modest price points. While prices have naturally risen over time, the relative structure remains: Ruth’s cards are not confined to the high-end market. The piece also includes a useful “Babe Ruth Checklist.”
