1958 Kahn’s Wieners Basketball Overview

For the second time, Kahn’s released a basketball set (click here to read about the 1957 Kahn’s Wieners cards); packaged with their hot dogs. This time 9, instead of 11 Cincinnati Royals players were included.

The cards still featured black-and-white player photos on the front along with a facsimile autograph and Kahn’s slogan along the bottom.

But this time, the backs featured a thought from the player about their “greatest thrill in basketball.” The set’s cards remained unnumbered.

PSA has only graded 60 of these cards, with SGC adding 13.

Despite the lack of graded examples, there are two complete PSA-graded sets (though one is retired from the Registry) out there; REA sold the lower graded one in the Summer of 2022 for $1,800 and the higher graded example in the Spring of 2025 for $3,600.
