Title: Kahn’s Wieners
Size: 3 1/4″ x 3 15/16″
Number in Set: 12
For their 1960 set, Kahn’s included LA Lakers star Jerry West in their 12-card set devoted to the Cincinnati Royals; collectors surmise because West grew up in the region. Like the previous years (1957, 1958, and 1959), the cards feature black-and-white photos, a facsimile autograph, and Kahn’s slogan on the front.
The backs are unnumbered and include a short bio and player statistics. However, the back of the West card uniquely consists of a longer biography and no statistics.
Like the other sets, Kahn’s inserted the cards one per package of hot dogs.
The set’s two key cards are Oscar Robertson and Jerry West; some collectors say the 1960 Kahn’s are their true rookie cards, predating their 1961 Fleer basketball cards.
