Attending the 2021 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago just wasn’t possible for me. Luckily, growing hobby interest means folks constantly shared terrific images from the event on social media.
While I’m sharing photos of many high-end items, you don’t need a $50k bankroll to enjoy The National. Plenty of my friends showed up with $100 and had a fantastic time meeting people, discussing the hobby, searching dollar boxes to complete sets, learning, and checking out unique collectibles. The hobby is fun and affordable if you are willing to show a little flexibility and patience.
Let’s not forget that relationships drive the hobby and the point of it is to have fun.
Baseball Card Exchange
I’m a big fan of vintage unopened material, and I’ve covered it a few times here on the blog – one of my favorite articles is Classic Images of Unopened Sports Cards.
Auction House High-End Items
All the major auction houses have a presence at The National, and it’s a great way to check out high-end material you won’t see anywhere else.
Crowds and the Show Floor
My dealer friends have told me this was one of the busiest Nationals they’ve experienced in a long time.
High-End Display Cases
There’s no shortage of high-grade/high-value cases at The National.
More Unique Unopened Material
These are just a few more photos of scarce unopened products.
If you were there, what was the highlight of the show for you? Let me know in the comments, and don’t forget to check @PostWarCards on Twitter; I’ll be posting many more photos from this and previous NSCC shows.
