Rare 1911 Goldsmith Sporting Goods advertising poster. Paper stock black and white broadside picturing 10 of the era’s greatest players endorsing Goldsmith products. Players include Honus Wagner, Lajoie, Mathewson, Johnson, Collins, and Ty Cobb each pictured in a game action photo. Size is 12’x19″ with some light mailing fold lines and is matted/ framed; believed to have been issued as some sort of premium to Goldsmith customers: EX-EX/MT
The expected sales price was only between $475 and $575!
Has anyone seen another one of these before? If so, let me know; I’d love to document more of its history, both from a sporting goods perspective and a hobby sales perspective.

About 40 years ago a local auction had a piece of Ty Cobb memorabilia – an approximately 10 by 12 inch on thick cardboard disply advertisement for a brand of shoes. Had a photo of Ty (in Tigers uniform) with someone presenting him with a pair of the shoes. I dropped out of the bidding at around $100 (about 25% of my total life savings at the time).
Never seen another since. Does anyone have any recollection of this item?
