Overview
The Dairy Council of Wisconsin Inc. sponsored this six-card caricature-style card set of Chicago Bulls players, printed on thin card stock, to promote the health benefits of milk.
The front of each card features a cartoon-style drawing of each player with the words “Grow Like a Pro” on a placard, along with an illustration of an apple, glass of milk, piece of bread, and a steak (representing the food groups) along the bottom of the card.
The back of each card has information explaining the health benefits of milk along with the Diary Council of Wisconsin, Inc’s logo. The cards are unnumbered.
Goldin sold a complete set of cards (including the BGS-graded Michael Jordan card pictured under the Example heading) for $984 in July 2020.
The Goldin lot also included the following coupon, which expired in May 1990, helping us date the set – I have a guide that dates this Dairy Council set to 1992-93.
I can’t confirm the authenticity, but I ran across an eBay auction for a sealed set that featured the coupon on the back.
