1980 Arby’s Illinois Fighting Illini Overview
Arby’s sponsored this 15-card set featuring players and coaches from the 1980-81 University of Illinois Fighting Illini basketball team. The front features a posed photo with the player’s signature below it. The bottom 1/4 of the card has the words “You and I love basketball at Illinois, Yes Sir!” and the Arby’s logo.
The cards are unnumbered; the number on the back of the card is the player’s jersey number. The back of the card has a horizontal layout and features standard biographical information on the top and an advertisement for Arby’s on the bottom.

The key cards in this collegiate set are the cards of Derek Harper and Eddie Johnson, who had successful NBA careers.
The Eddie Johnson card pictured below sold for $29.99 on eBay in May 2023 and the Derek Haper pictured above sold for $39.95 on eBay in January 2022.
While cards from this set don’t pop up for sale that often, collectors can purchase most of the other ones for just a few dollars when they do.
