1978 Montreal Canadiens Postcards Overview
The 1978-79 Montreal Canadiens Postcards set has 26 cards featuring a photo of each player, taken yearbook style, from the shoulders up. The backgrounds are red, except for two cards that have blue backgrounds (Ruel and Cournoyer). Beneath the photos is a large white area with the player’s facsimile autograph. The backs are blank and unnumbered.

SGC has graded one postcard from this set, Guy Lafleur’s, as a 9, and it’s on eBay (October 2025) with an asking price of $425.
The postcards are relatively inexpensive, though, a lot of 23 sold on eBay in February 2024 for $34.91.
1978 Montreal Canadiens Postcards Key Cards
While the set includes a few popular players, the key card is Rod Langway since this postcard predates his rookie card by two years.
