Overview
The 1963 Kahn’s Wieners football card set was their largest release, including players from all 14 NFL teams. Though, Nearmint’s Vintage Football Card Blog points out that Kahn’s skewed the distribution of players towards those from the best teams.
The set’s distinguishing feature was on the front as Kahn’s printed a white border around the black-and-white player photo. The cards still featured a facsimile autograph, though many weren’t in the player’s handwriting, and Kahn’s slogan, “The Wiener The World Awaited.”
The backs again featured basic player biographical and statistical information and were unnumbered.
Given the larger set size, it makes sense that PSA has graded so many of them, 1157 cards (SGC has encapsulated 252), but they tend to grade a little lower. Some collectors think this was because the protective wax coating on this year’s cards was a little thinner.
In the Spring of 2020, Robert Edward Auctions sold a complete set of 1963 Kahn’s Wieners football cards for $2520; the key cards were graded PSA 6/7, and the rest were raw.

And in the Summer of 2022, REA also sold a complete set with 41 graded cards for $2760 (the Jim Brown was raw and in poor condition).

Key Cards
Jim Brown is the set’s priciest and key card, followed by Frank Gifford, Fran Tarkenton, and John Unitas.
