1962 Tang Team Photos Overview
Tang sponsored a set of team photographs of each NFL team in 1962. Although their logo is not on the photos, PostCerealFootball.com has all the details about the promotion, “Tang instant breakfast drink was part of the General Foods 1962 football promotion. The deal was that one could get a set of all 14 National Football league team pictures by sending 50ยข and the inner seal from the top of the jar. Paul Hornung was the guy on the colorful grocery store display piece. Team photos were taken at training camp in 1962…” Here’s a photo from their site of the “Tang Special” offer advertisement featuring Paul Hornung.

Each “Card” is of very thin paper stock. The fronts have team photos within a white border. The designer imposed the team logos over the photo’s lower right side, and the team and players’ names are printed, centered along the bottom.
The backs are blank and unnumbered.
