1958 Packard-Bell Overview
Packard-Bell, the self-proclaimed “world’s largest seller of TVs, radios, and hi-fis” (as written on the back of the card), offered these seven cards featuring cards of the newly arrived Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants regionally on the west coast. There are four Giants and three Dodgers players in the set.
Each card features a black-and-white head-and-shoulders player portrait on the front with the player’s facsimile autograph. The backs are ads for Packard Bell and have a quote about the manufacturer from the player, his autograph, the team’s schedule for either the Giants or Dodgers and a large/bolded Packard-Bell slogan along the bottom. The cards are unnumbered.

Advertising posters for each team featured the four Giants or three Dodgers players. The headline called for folks to register to win tickets and offered free cards. Lelands sold the Giants poster (plus the original mailing envelope) for $1714 in August 2018 and the Dodgers poster (plus the original mailing envelope) for $579 in February 2019.

PSA has graded 50 1958 Packard-Bell Cards, most being 5s and 6s, while SGC has graded 43. I presume many have been crossed and not removed from the other Pop Report, though. So, the cards are pretty scarce.
1958 Packard-Bell Significant Sales
Memory Lane Inc. sold a complete PSA-Graded set for $4789.30 in April 2009. It was described as the only known graded set at the time.

In May 2018, Robert Edward Auctions sold a near set of 6/7 cards (missing the Willie Mays that was sold initially as a separate lot), which they said was #1 on the PSA Set Registry for $2700.

Pre-War Card Collector sold this lot of four, with a Willie Mays card, for $2,760 in March 2023
