1956 Kahn’s Wieners Cincinnati Redlegs Overview
In 1956, Kahn’s (an Ohio meat company) grew its baseball set from its 1955 release to 15 cards from six. They also began issuing the cards in packs of hotdogs, and since they were in direct contact with the meat, they’re usually found stained today.
The 1956 cards again exclusively included Cincinnati Redlegs players. Each card features a black-and-white photo of the player in a short-sleeved uniform against a full stadium background (later Kahn’s Wieners cards had blank backgrounds) with a facsimile autograph. The company’s advertising slogan, “The Wiener The World Awaited,” was printed within a white-backed bottom tab, “Compliments of Kahn’s Wieners.” Cards without that bottom tab are sold at significant discounts.
The backs are blank and unnumbered.
The Frank Robinson pre-rookie card anchors the set and is one of the most valuable Kahn’s Wieners cards, across all sports, ever produced.

As I said, the cards are tough to find in decent condition due to packaging, and you can see that in the PSA and SGC Pop Reports.
PSA has graded 97 cards across the set, with just five cards in the population being graded PSA 6, and none are higher. There’s 1 PSA Auth, 22 PSA 1s, 33 2s, 7 3s, 10 4s, 11 5s, and 5 6s (and handful of + and Qs). Frank Robinson has the most PSA-graded examples, with 16.
SGC has graded 60 cards across the set, with the highest being a pair of 5.5s. Their Pop Report includes 20 Frank Robinson samples.

The set’s key card belongs to Frank Robinson, which pre-dates his Topps rookie card by one year, but the Ted Kluszewski is pretty pricey, too.
