1955 Dodgers Glory, Framed Forever

Few things capture baseball history like a beautifully framed display. This piece features a rare original 1955 World Series pennant, from the Dodgers’ first championship season, paired with an oversized team photo. It’s exactly the kind of memorabilia that keeps me hooked on the hobby.

The framed piece was offered in Ron Oser Enterprises December 2000 catalog auction:

A very desirable 29″ original blue on white Brooklyn Dodgers felt pennant (EX) from their first World Championship season. This scarcely-seen momento from that infamous subway series is an endearing reminder of how truly great the game used to be. Magnificently displayed with an oversized 13″ x 23″ Dodgers team photo. Professionally framed to measure a grandiose 35 by 42 inches.

That said, the framed version of the pennant appears to use Yankees colors rather than Dodgers blue & white, like this example that Lelands sold for $480 in November 2023.

As a reminder, the Dodgers won the 1955 World Series in seven games, and “This was the sixth World Series contested between the Yankees and Dodgers; the Yankees had won each of the five prior matchups (1941, 1947, 1949, 1952, and 1953).”

Happy collecting!
